Russian President Vladimir Putin during the annual press conference talked about the construction of a new highway connecting Turkey and Georgia. A journalist from Grozny asked the question about the road.

“Road construction is a good idea and this can be implemented. There is a problem in communicating with Georgia definitely, especially in winter when everything is covered with snow. This is a good idea, but it is not included in the practical projects of the Ministry of Transport. However, this initiative is well-known and feasible”, - said Vladimir Putin.

The Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has said several times that he wants to build a road linking republic with Georgia, because such road is economically viable.
