Irma Inashvili, leader of the Alliance of Patriots, disagrees with the proposal of the ruling team. He said the proposal was not in line with the proportional system demanded by the opposition and society:
“Today’s proposal of the majority has absolutely nothing to do with the proportional system. The second problem is that there are talks to leave a mixed model forever. Our political team is talking about moving to a proportional electoral system in 2020. At the same time, we are talking about introducing additional elements, make compulsory the participation in elections”, - said Irma Inashvili.
Ruling party proposed to hold the next elections through a mixed electoral system, in which 100 MPs will be elected through proportional and 50 through a majoritarian system.
