Fire in Ateni Gorge - liquidation works will resume in the morning

The fire elimination work continues in Ateni Gorge. Two helicopters resumed work in the morning.

According to the Emergency Management Agency, there is only one area where fire needs to be extinguished. Firefighters were able to liquidate 4 out of 5 zones yesterday.

The defense equipment is out of the gorge, with 60 firefighters working on the ground.

“As a result of intense work we can say that most of the fireplaces are liquidated. There is no danger to the population and there is no danger of any additional spreading areas”, - said Shida Kartli State Governor Giorgi Khojevanishvili.
