Ten people were detained at the protest rally near the “Anas Baghi” (Ann’s Garden) in Varketili.
Protesters did not let the representatives of a construction company move freely, with this leading to clashes among them.

The proceedings have been instituted against the detainees under articles 173 and 166 (petty hooliganism and failure to obey a police order).

The trial of detained persons is postponed until January, 15

Locals have staged rallies for a few months and demanded that the construction company stop construction works in that area. The company claims that their protest is ludicrous since they have the corresponding documents and permission to perform construction works.
