“I did my best to prevent people’s confrontation”. Such a statement the so-called president of occupied Abkhazia Raul Khajimba made after “resigning”.
“There has been a difficult situation in Abkhazia lately. I did my best to avoid confronting people. Much has been done in the last 5 years, but there are still some problems. I support the notion that elections and political processes must be in line with our country’s constitution and legislation. A different way would be devastating for Abkhazia”, - said Khajimba.
Protests started in Abkhazia on January 9, when demonstrators broke into the so-called presidential administration building demanding resignation of Raul Khadjimba.
According to Abkhazia’s “election administration”, repeated “presidential elections” to take place on March 22.
