Occupation regime temporarily opens Akhalgori crossing point for pensioners

De facto authorities of occupied Tskhinvali region has temporarily opened a crossing point between occupied Akhalgori district and the rest of Georgia for pensioners only, after an almost 5-month closure, which has created a severe humanitarian situation on the ground.

Through the so called “Razdakhan” crossing point dozens of pensioners have moved to the territory controlled by the central government of Georgia.

The so called border was closed on September 5. This decision of the de facto regime is related to the developments in Chorchana and the crisis situation there.

Since September 5, the border has been closed. Consequently, people living in the occupied territories have not been able to receive their pensions until now.
