After Tbilisi, Kutaisi Airport has started checking passengers in connection with Coronavirus. The decision was made by the Ministry of Health after the death toll from the virus increased.

Emergency medical doctors monitor the incoming passengers with a special thermometer and give them information about symptoms typical of this flu.

Similar procedures start today at the Batumi airport. How effective these measures will be, is unknown, as Chinese and Western medics say the new virus is spreading before symptoms appear.

“We have been instructed to check passengers to prevent coronavirus. We are working 24 hours a day. We have the proper equipment. Georgia is considered a low risk country”, - said resuscitator Tamila Dolidze.
