MIA – “Joint Operations Center” and “112” have been merged

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Vakhtang Gomelauri attended presentation of the updated Public Safety Management Center.

On December 31, 2019 the LEPL “112” service and Joint Operations Center have been merged, thus forming “Public Safety Management Center 112” which will make services provided to the public more efficient in times of crises and emergency situations, mechanisms for ensuring public order, fight against crime and its prevention tools.

At the event, Gomelauri awarded those citizens who made a call to 112 service during the emergency and saved foreign citizens’ lives. The Minister also awarded best operator, dispatcher and group coordinator of 2019.

“Joint Operations Center and “112” have been merged. I think that operation will be more successful and quick which is the most important aspect for such service. Each second and minute has a crucial meaning, when it comes to the emergency call, whether it will be a call for medical aid, fire-rescue assistance or police- directed request. In such moments dispatching crews on time is all that matters. In the following presentation we will witness what has changes and what novelties are yet to come. I would like to congratulate everyone, new and old employees. I wish you all success and express my gratitude for the cooperation and coordination. I would also like to wish success to Mr. Giorgi”- said Vakhtang Gomelauri.
