The Prime Minister of Georgia opened the Annual Development Partnership Forum after a two-year gap, giving thanks to the various international organizations and financial institutions which have provided 7 billion USD in financial aid for Georgian reforms over the past several years.
During the forum, which aims to inform donor organizations of government priorities and reforms, Giorgi Gakharia said that as of now Georgia has four priority directions.
“The four priorities are security, economic development and jobs, education and human capital and open governance. The state development is unlikely without a strong and politically unbiased public sector. The state bureaucracy must be politically neutral and of high quality. A range of reforms have been carried out to reach the goal and Georgia still needs to take further steps in this regard.
The participation in the Open Partnership Initiative in the following years is among the priorities of the state government. Georgia carried out many reforms and continues to do so. It is important our partners and colleagues see the country’s progress and results of the reforms and support us on this path”, - said the Head of the Government.
Speaking about the occupation, he said that the country’s Euro-Atlantic course “is the major guarantee for state security and reintegration”.
“It is impossible today to talk about the security component without challenges when 20% of our country is occupied. We understand that when we talk about occupation, we mean not only the occupation of Georgian land, but also the 20% limitation of our country’s development. Euro-Atlantic course “is the major guarantee for state security and reintegration”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
