Ambassador Kelly C. Degnan had presented her credentials to Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani and President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili.
Ambassador Degnan will now officially assume her duties as the Chief of Mission of the United States to Georgia.
During the first meeting Zalkaliani and Degnan focused on all aspects of US-Georgia strategic cooperation. The U.S. reaffirmed its strong and unwavering support for Georgia, and the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen bilateral relations.

“It is a great honor for me to meet with the Georgian Foreign Minister today. I am pleased to be here and to begin working with the Minister and the Government of Georgia on a very busy agenda. We will work to help Georgia continue its integration into the West to cope with Russia"s destabilizing actions and efforts to disrupt Georgia"s overwhelming progress over the years”, - said the Ambassador.
