We are preparing to enter the peak phase of the epidemic. Such a statement made today the spokesperson of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani.
“The highest increase in the number of cases of infection has been registered in the country, and according to the recent data, we already have 306 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
New cases are being investigated and the contacts of the newly infected people are being identified. We have a significant expansion of internal clusters in the country, and in fact, we are preparing to enter the peak phase of the epidemic.
We have entered the stage of full-scale internal transmission of the virus in the country. Now we are preparing to enter the peak phase of the coronavirus.
Restrictions will be further tightened in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi. According to the Government’s decision, entering or leaving the big cities of Georgia – Tbilisi, Rustavi, Batumi, and Kutaisi – will be prohibited for 10 days. The measure is aimed at reducing the mobility of citizens in large cities as much as possible”, - concluded Chikovani.
