It is unacceptable to make insulting statements about doctors despite their devoted efforts. Such a statement made today the President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili during the special plenary session of the Parliament.

As she explain, by declaring the state of emergency, it became possible to maximally control the situation at the first stage and protect the country from extreme complications.

“On the one hand, this is a direct result of the government"s timely and effective steps, the coordinated work of all agencies and, on the other hand, the tireless efforts of our medics.

Therefore, I think it is unacceptable to make insulting statements about doctors despite their devoted efforts. The result of our efforts in all directions is that we still maintain a low rate compared to other countries and we deserve positive international appraisals.

Another proof of this was my conversation with the UN Secretary-General yesterday. He praised the steps taken by the Georgian government during this period”, - said the President of Georgia.
