The Georgian lawmakers held a video conference on election legislation this afternoon. The Speaker of the Parliament, MPs of the ruling party, representatives of different political parties, independent MPs, NGOs and international partners discussed proposed changes to be made into Election Code and recommendations provided by OSCE / ODIHR.

The proposed changes, based on OSCE/ ODIHR, include issues of election campaign, financing of political parties, relations with media during the election campaigning period and second round of elections. The Parliament planned to discuss the legislative package after completion of the state of emergency.
