The President of Georgia held a phone conversation with the President of the European Council.
During the conversation Salome Zourabichvili and Charles Michel discussed the difficult, crisis situation created by the spread of COVID-19.
Georgia leader thanked the President of the European Council for the EU’s assistance to Georgia in dealing with the pandemic and noted that this is the manifestation of European solidarity.
Charles Michel has expressed interest in the plans of the Georgian government related to the strategy of reopening the economy, and in turn, spoke about the future economic development plans of European countries.
Zourabichvili said that the crisis has seriously affected the tourism sector. Michel underlined that after the crisis, the EU plans close cooperation with Georgia in various directions. It was noted that geopolitically, Georgia is a close partner of Europe.
