French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili by phone and praised the measures Georgia has carried out in the fight against the coronavirus.

“The current pandemic situation has shown that Georgia has a strong health care system and this system will be further strengthened in cooperation with France”, - said Zourabichvili.

The leaders discussed Georgia’s European integration process. Besides, Macron and Zourabichvili noted the strategic importance of the Black Sea for Europe in the context of transportation, communication and security.

The President of Georgia talked about Georgia’s plan to open the country to tourism. Her French counterpart noted his support for safe tourism in the country and expressed the wish to deepen French-Georgian relations in the tourism sector.
