From May 22 in the municipalities of Bolnisi and Telavi, the so-called seroprevalence research will start

Epidemiologists will conduct a five-day the so-called seroprevalence research in Bolnisi and Telavi municipalities. Such a statement made today Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health.


According to him, for this research individuals will be inspected on a random basis.


Besides, according to Gamkrelidze, the epidemic situation is better in Georgia than in other countries of the world though this does not give the ground for being calm.


“There are 713 laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Georgia and the 67% of infected patients have already recovered. Those, who are discharged from hospital, undergo testing twice. The fatality rate is 1.68%. About 45 thousand persons underwent PCR testing in the country out of which 3 thousand are repeated tests conducted on the 13th and 14th day of the quarantine”, - said the Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health.
