The Prime Minister congratulates Muslim population on the feast of Ramadan Bayram

The Prime Minister congratulated the Muslims living in Georgia on the feast of Ramadan Bayram. Giorgi Gakharia met with Muslim religious leaders at the Government administration.


During the meeting the Head of the Government emphasized the multi-century long tradition of peaceful coexistence of citizens of different nationalities and religions in Georgia.


“It is a great honor for us to have the opportunity to congratulate each of our Muslim citizens on the Feast of Ramadan. This is a day of reconciliation, warmth, love, and caring for each other. We are all children of Georgia, it has been so for centuries, we all serve this country, and most importantly, we respect our faith, this is the most important thing for us.


Once again, I wish you a blessed Ramazan and wish you everyone to make a contribution, either significant or insignificant, to the development of our country”, - Prime Minister said.

Muslim religious leaders of Georgia thanked Giorgi Gakharia for his assistance to the Muslim community in recent years.


“We are all building a democratic state together. The degree of democracy is increasing. Today, the situation in terms of human rights is much better and at a high level, for which we are all grateful. I would like to congratulate you on the Independence Day of our country. Muslims have always stood by this country”, - added the Mufti of West Georgia Adam Shantadze.


Muslim leaders of the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia, the head of the government"s administration, The Prime Minister’s Advisor on Human Rights and Gender Equality, the head of the Human Rights Secretariat, and the head of The State Agency for Religious Issues attended the meeting.
