Georgia’s borders remain closed and individuals that come into Georgia from Russia have both Georgian and Russian citizenship. Such a statement made today the Minister of Internal Affairs.

Vakhtang Gomelauri’s comment came in response to misinformation that Georgia’s borders have opened and rumours that Russian citizens are entering the country by car.

“This misinformation was related to the presence of Russian license plates in Georgia. Family members (spouse or children) of people who have double citizenship are allowed in the country despite the fact that they might have only Russian citizenship. Besides, there are many Russian citizens in Georgia who did not return back to Russia amid the COVID-19 and said that they are in the country legally”, - explained the Minister.
