Tbilisi City Hall will announce an auction for the privatization of municipal clinics. Such a statement made today the Mayor of the capital during the government’s meeting.
“I want to address the issue of municipal clinics which are in bad condition, with miserable infrastructure. I am not even going further and comment on the conditions inside the buildings. They were built decades ago, without being renovated up until now. I won’t discuss the equipment. They are in dire condition. This problem should definitely be solved.
We have two options - one is for municipality to take the responsibility. However, the municipalities have a lot of problems - the deficit of GEL 150 mln and the GEL 50 mln which was cut down to be redistributed on other priorities.
Therefore, a privatization project should be drafted. Throughout the privatization process the clinics shouldn’t lose their status and the employees should keep their jobs”, - concluded Kakha Kaladze.
