17 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. According to the Deputy Representative of the region, the person infected with COVID-19 was a guest in one of the families in Mestia.

“In Mestia municipality, there is 1 family that had a guest, and it is expected that the virus got transmitted from him. There are 17 confirmed cases, of which 7 are residents of Mestia. The patients are at the hospitals of Tbilisi and Kutaisi. Part of them will undergo treatment in Zugdidi.

In-depth epidemiological and laboratory research is underway. 5 brigades of the Center for Disease Control will work in the village today and take biological material from all the residents”, - said Nino Vibliani.
