The cellar, discovered by the National Museum`s archaeological expedition dates back to the first millennium BC. The wine sedimentation on the bottom of the pitcher,as the researchers say, is likely to have a connection to the ancient grape varieties, which were found in the region of Kvemo Kartli. The archaeologists also discovered remains of a temple near the ancient wine cellar.
The American journalist from the National Geographic- magazine" will be collecting information on Georgian wine ancient culture throughout the summer and will offer the readers an article in the fall.
National Museum will carry out the laboratory analysis of the wine sediment found in the pitchers in the near future.
