The deadline for vehicle customs clearance has been extended until March 2021. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“It’s fact that the impact of the crisis will be long-term. Car importers have addressed us several times. We have already postponed customs clearance once, in the interests of the fiscal year, it would probably be better to postpone it until March 2021, which means that as customs clearance is postponed, so will no interest be accrued.
This will affect about 24,000 car owners, and if I am not mistaken, this is a relief of more than GEL 30 mln in tax deferrals”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
