The administration of the President of Georgia categorically denies reports about Salome Zourabichvili’s visit to Minsk on August 16. The relevant information was released on the social network.

“We categorically deny the spread information. The president has not left Georgia, not even Tbilisi”, - reads the statement.

The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a plane owned by the Government actually flew to Minsk. However, it was not the President but the Ambassador of Georgia to Belarus Valeri Kvaratskhelia.

On August 16, large-scale rallies over the disputed reelection of Alexander Lukashenko took place in Belarus.
