The President of Georgia proposed to teach the Constitution and the principles of the Constitution in schools.
“The Constitution of Georgia is the axis of the our state, the unifying document of the Georgian people, each of its citizens, a bridge between generations, a way of development and a model for the future.
Despite the existence of ancient monuments of law in Georgia, the history of the Constitution began in 1918, when the Act of Independence was adopted and later the Constitutional Commission drafted the Constitution.
The Constitution has the power to establish a state-oriented and legal awareness. And that’s why I have this initiative - to teach the Constitution and the principles of the Constitution in schools! The Constitution should be perceived as a living set of principles and norms, as their implementation is the basis for the independence, freedom and progress of our country”, - reads the statement of Salome Zourabichvili, released on the occasion of the Day of Constitution.
