Amiran Gamkrelidze calls on confectionery “Dona’s” customers to get tested. According to the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), they do not know how far the infection has gone outside of “Dona”.
“Out of the current 38 cases, 22 are from the so-called “Dona cluster”, where the micro-epidemic took place. The infected individuals are mostly the employees. So far, we do not have information on how far the infection has gone outside Dona. It was announced last night that those who were in this cafe in the last days, should visit the tents and take the test, about 600 samples have been taken and we will have their answers today
Despite a small coronavirus outbreak in Batumi, city will not be closed. Instead extended testing for coronavirus will kick off in Batumi. One more tent has been put up for coronavirus testing in Batumi. There are three laboratories in Batumi and 1600-1800 tests can be taken daily. There is no alternative to extended testing”, - added Amiran Gamkrelidze.
Totally there are 1 548 cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
