Response mechanisms against sexual harassment to be established in public agencies

Response mechanisms against sexual harassment to be established in public agencies. This is the decision of the Gender Equality Commission of the Prime Minister’s Human Rights Council.

The following issues were discussed at the expanded meeting of the interagency commission on gender equality, violence against women and domestic violence: national referral procedures for identification, protection, assistance and rehabilitation of victims of violence against women and domestic violence, post-asylum programs for economic empowerment of victims of violence.

Commission members briefed NGOs and international partners on the ongoing work. While discussing future steps, the special importance of focusing on the prevention of violence against women and domestic violence was noted. The need for public engagement in responding to violence was stressed during the meeting.

International cooperation, within the framework of which Georgia will share its experience with other European countries, was also discussed during the session.
