The second wave of the coronavirus pandemic is starting in Georgia. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of the country.
“Today we had 57 cases. It means that the epidemiological situation in Georgia is slowly changing. We expected the second wave to start in the autumn and this process begins. The main thing is that there is no reason to panic because we are fully managing the process.
From the very first day of the epidemic, our Government has taken timely and rapid steps. One of the most important directions of these steps was to manage the risks of spreading the virus as well as to adapt the social, economic and even political life to the conditions of virus management.
For example, in the first days of the epidemic, our healthcare system did 150 PCR tests per day, and today, the healthcare system can do an average of 6000-7000 tests, and soon it will be possible to do 10,000 tests”, - said Giorgi Gakharia.
