The Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister met with the Co-chairs of the Geneva Internal Discussions from the EU, UN and OSCE.

Davit Zalkaliani expressed concern over the increasing provocations by Russia, which threaten peace and stability in the region and restrict the fundamental rights of locals. He talked about the cases of illegal detention and abduction of Georgian citizens, as well as the ongoing illegal bordarization near Atotsi, Zemo Nikozi and Khurvaleti.

Russia’s activation of hybrid instruments and disinformation attacks on Georgia and the EUMM was also mentioned during the meeting. According to Zalkaliani, such destructive steps are aimed at destabilizing the situation in the country.

He also focused on the dare humanitarian situation in Gali and Akhalgori, the closure of the occupation line and the restriction of free movement, which puts a heavy burden on the local population.
