If the parties want Georgia to be involved in the peace talks, we are ready, but, unfortunately, there are no signs of it as of today. Such a statement made today the chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, while commenting Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“We are constantly monitoring the process, the Foreign Ministry is in contact with its counterparts in Azerbaijan and Armenia on a 24-hour basis, and obviously we are analyzing how events may unfold. Also, as it is known, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan held telephone communication with their partner countries, I hope and can say - I am sure that bigger players will not be involved in the process, because everyone understands that it will lead to an international crisis. Therefore, I expect that more powerful actors will be involved in the process of calling for peace and stability, and we, too, are clearly calling on our neighbors to cease fire and devote more time and resources to peaceful dialogue”, - said Irakli Sesiashvili
