Seven opposition parties signed a joint statement reaffirming that they will not enter the Parliament.
Opposition political parties running in the elections have signed a joint statement saying they will not enter the new parliament.
“Parliamentary elections were held under conditions of violence and intimidation of voters, coordinated pressure from the State Security Service and the criminal world, large-scale bribery, use of administrative resources and violent influence on the will of the voters. This was accompanied by manipulation of election protocols and so-called carrousel.
The final results published by the CEC did not reflect the will of the Georgian people, and it is clear to us, the opposition parties, that our fellow citizens rejected Bidzina Ivanishvili’s rule and did not give him a third term in office.
Consequently, this Parliament does not reflect the will of the electorate. We do not consider this parliament legitimate because it is elected as a result of illegal actions and does not express the will of the people.
We continue to fight against Ivanishvili for a better democratic future for our country”, - reads the statement.
The statement was signed by the UNM, European Georgia, Lelo, Strategy Builder, Alliance of Patriots, Citizens, Labor Party, Republican Party, Law and Justice, European Democrats, United Georgia, Tribune, Victorious Georgia, For Justice, Free Democrats, Freedom, Free Georgia and Christian Democratic Movement.
