The Ombudsman responded to the new charges against Okropiridze.
As Nanuashvili said in the statement, "the nformation about torture or ill-treatment provided to Public Defender can not be used against a prisoner and be used as the ground for his prosecution."
Public Defender says that in no case the prosecution activities should become abusive.
"The prosecutor"s office as well as any other institution, must respect the oversight of human rights by the highest constitutional institution - the Public Defender and should not use its authority for conducting the actions in violation of the human rights ," - says the statement published by the Public Defender.
