The trial of Iveri Melashvili and Natalia Ilychova, detained regarding the case of Davit Gareji, continues in the Tbilisi City Court.
Today, the court is discussing the revision of the measure of restraint for the detainees.
According to the Prosecutor Mikheil Sadradze, “their position will be categorical as this is a crime committed against the state”.
The Prosecutor’s Office detaoned Iveli Melashvili, the head of the Border Relations Service of Department of Neighboring Countries and Natalia Ilichova, the Chief Inspector of the Land Border Defence Department of the MIA of Georgia on October 7 as part of the ongoing investigation into the case of Davit Gareji. The detainees pleaded not guilty.
