Kakheti police detained three persons for illegally restricting freedom to under-aged girl

The officers of Kakheti police department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained three persons as a result of operative –search and investigative activities for illegally restricting freedom to under-aged girl. The detainees are: A.A. (DoB 1999) R.O. (DoB 1991) and A.A. (DoB 1995).

Committed crime envisages from 7 to 10 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that on December 21, 2020 A.A. along with accompanying persons illegally restricting freedom to under-aged girl – P.A. (DoB 2004) in Karajala village, Lagodekhi municipality, with the purpose of the forced marriage.

As a result of several days of intensive operative-search and investigative activities, police managed to establish the location of the abducted under-aged girl.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal restriction of freedom to an under-aged person, article 143, III part, sub-paragraph “A” and “D” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
