The Parliament of Georgia approved the draft law on amnesty in the first reading. The bill was supported by 82 deputies.

The draft law pertains to Article 44, however, some other articles are also being considered, including drug crimes and tax and economic crimes. About 15-20 articles will be added to the bill, however, it will not be qualitatively updated and incompatible with the principles that the bill has in general.

The next sitting will be held on January 4, 2021.
