Out of 1 527 new cases of coronavirus, 710 have been detected in Tbilisi

1 527 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council.


“Within the scope of intensive testing 13 030 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 6 323 were antigen-based express test method and 6 707 PCR.


1 527 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 227 420 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.


1 282individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 211 727.


Unfortunately, 24 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 2 505.


Out of 1 527 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 710 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 78 - in Adjara, 239 - in Imereti, 63 - in Kvemo Kartli, 130 - in Shida Kartli, 24 - in Guria, 108 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 105 - in Kakheti, 47 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 14 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 9 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.


At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 13 162, out of which 5 104 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 315 are stationed in Tbilisi, 451 - in Adjara and 1 007 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 1 004 patients, out of which 466 are based in Tbilisi, 98 - in Adjara and 246 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 332 patients, out of which 200 are stationed in Tbilisi, 28 - in Adjara and 49 - in Imereti. 1 167 individuals are placed at clinical hotels, out of which 443 are based in Tbilisi, 512 - in Adjara and 85 - in Imereti. 6 891 individuals are treated at home.


431 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 173 are located in Tbilisi, 71 - in Adjara and 68 - in Imereti.


In total, 21 132 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 30, 2020.


At present, 32 221 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 18 813 are based in Tbilisi, 2 728 - in Adjara and 3 644 - in Imereti”, - said Berdia Sichinava.
