The registration of the newly elected President of the Rugby Union, Irakli Abuseridze, has been suspended. Bacho Khurtsidze, one of the candidates running in the presidential elections, addressed the Public Registry with a statement.
As it became known from the document published by the Public Registry, the reason for the suspension of registration is the repeated general meeting held in violation of the charter, which was supposed to be held no later than 30 days after the general meeting that broke down on February 24, 2020, but didn’t take place because of COVID-19s.
Abuseridze was elected President of the Rugby Union on December 30. He was supported by a majority of delegates with 31 votes.
