Within the scope of intensive testing 15 205 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours

1 177 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.


“Within the scope of intensive testing 15 205 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 7 265 were antigen-based express test method and 7 940 PCR.


1 177 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 245 789 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.


837 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 229 196.


Unfortunately, 26 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 2 893.


Out of 1 357 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 496 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 52 - in Adjara, 187 - in Imereti, 83 - in Kvemo Kartli, 83 - in Shida Kartli, 33 - in Guria, 105 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 88 - in Kakheti, 25 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 20 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 5 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
