Georgia has won 2 inter-state cases against Russia, the enforcement of which is the common responsibility of all members of the Council of Europe. Such a statement Mariam Kvrivishvili, the First Deputy Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration, made during the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly.
“The first was the deportation case concerning the detention and collective expulsion of numerous Georgians by the Russian Federation. Russia is obliged to pay 10,000,000 euros to Georgia for the moral damage caused to at least 1,500 Georgian citizens. As of today, the decision has not been implemented.
Besides, recently, the ECHR issued a judgment in the Georgia v. Russia war case.
The enforcement of both inter-state cases is the shared responsibility of all members of the Council of Europe. The Government of Georgia is committed to fully and effectively enforcing the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights”, - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
