USAID Economic Security Programme helps make sectors of our economy attractive to foreign investors, said today the Minister of Economy after the meeting with the USAID Economic Security Programme steering team.
“This programme is helping Georgia develop a tourism recovery strategy in the post coronavirus period. It also assists the United Airports of Georgia, which merges Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports. Our goal is to turn Kutaisi airport into a tourist attraction and a hub in western Georgia, where tourists will learn about the sights of western part of our country”, - added Natia Turnava.
The 5-year programme which was approved in 2020 and aims to improve the livelihoods of Georgians by generating investment and increased employment in priority sectors and value chains.
USAID’s Economic Security Program is designed to scale up economic impact through strategic partnerships and investments while building alliances within and between the private sector, government, and civil society.
