After having visited Adjara Police Department, the Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri, held a working meeting with the leadership of the police units in Guria and Samegrelo regions. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Vladimer Bortsvadze.
Guria and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Departments have new directors. Vakhtang Gomelauri wished success to the newly appointed head of the Guria Police Department - Levan Kharabadze at the meeting in Ozurgeti.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also visited Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region after Guria. At the meeting held in Zugdidi, the Minister discussed the recent situation with regard to the fight against crime and police activities in the region.
Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department is being headed by Police Colonel Nikoloz Diasamidze since February 10.
As the Minister noted, due to the specifics of the operational activities of the police, the primary goal of structural and personnel changes in the Ministry of Internal Affairs is to ensure the most secure environment for country and citizens.
At the meetings held in Guria and Samegrelo, Vakhtang Gomelauri reviewed the priority directions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and gave relevant instructions to the employees regarding the work process.
