The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department as a result of operative and investigative activities detained a person in Abasha municipality born in 1981 for rape.

Committed crime envisages from 6 to 8 years of imprisonment.

Investigation established that detainee committed sexual offence against his female co-villager born in 1956.

Law enforcers detained the offender several hours later after the crime took place. Relevant expertise is scheduled as well as investigative and procedural measures.

Investigation regarding the mentioned fact is in progress under the article 137 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
