15 March is Day of Georgian Artillery

The Georgian Artillery celebrates the 28th anniversary today.

On March 15, 1993 the Abkhaz separatists along with the North Caucasian mercenaries and the Russian military stationed on Gudauta base launched a large-scale attack along the Gumista River on the 8 km frontline.

From March 14 till March 16 the Georgian Artillery delivered a powerful blow on the enemy moving to Sokhumi. Suffering heavy casualties, the coalition forces were forced to retreat.

March 15 has been announced as the Artillery Day dedicated to the victory gained during these days.
