Former officials of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia left the courtroom without any bail, on the ground of personal surety of MPs Nino Goguadze, Irakli Chikovani, Zurab Abashidze, Viktor Dolidze and Shalva Shavgulidze. 

The judge satisfied the motion of the Prosecutor’s Office on cancellation of detention applied against the former officials of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia and application of a non-custodial measure  as the measure of restraint.

The prosecution explained their request by the fact that the 9-month-long pre-trial detention term expires on July 28 2015, while pre-trial hearings are not over yet. According to them, consideration of admissibility of evidence has been completed, and therefore, risks of exerting pressure on witnesses or destroying evidence are decreased.
