The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met with the European Parliament"s Standing Rapporteur for Georgia Sven Mikser.
The meeting focused on the Association Agreement and Georgia’s progress, including the implementation of democratic reforms. The parties discussed the outcomes of the latest meeting of the Georgia-EU Association Council. The Head of Government thanked Sven Mikser for supporting Georgia"s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The conversation also revolved around Georgia’s ongoing political processes and the EU-mediated dialogue. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Georgian Government’s commitment to constructive dialogue, adding that the involvement of the EU in the process demonstrates how important stability in Georgia is to the country’s partners. The meeting emphasized that the actors involved bear enormous responsibility in light of the country"s interests, the reason why a compromise-based decision must be made, and the political processes must be channeled into the Parliament.
