Damaged water pipes in the center of Tbilisi have arisen another problem - how clean is the water coming from taps?
The results of laboratory study, which was conducted on Mtatsminda, will be known in a few days.
However, Tbilisi water company says that water in the capital is controlled and complies with the safety requirements of drinking water.
"GWP is applying double chlorination process," - said the head of the National Food Agency, Zaza Dolidze.
Dolidze said that due to the double chlorination process the waterf rom the tap will change color, but will be completely safe.
After the disaster, the water samples were taken from 48 streets. The results of samples taken from several streets are not known yet.
It is still unknown whether the water is drinkable in Svanidze, Athens, Gabashvili, Gedevanishvili, Dolidze, Balanchivadze, Chikovani, Kareli and Likhauri streets.
However, GWP- say that Tbilisi is supplied with drinking water from Aragvi Gorge and Jinvali, which were not affected by the disaster.
