Two individuals sentenced to 7 years in prison for cyber crime

Two individuals have been sentenced to 7 years and 6 in prison by Tbilisi City Court on charges of money laundering, illegal access to computer systems and theft.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the convicts illegally accessed computer systems of 58 individuals between April and June 2020 and stole GEL 73,628.

“The individuals then transferred the money to Imany Georgia electronic wallet and bought GEL 41,601 worth of Bitcoin”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.
