The US Embassy congratulates the Georgian Defense Forces on its 30th anniversary.

“Tomorrow the Georgian Defense Forces turns 30! We salute the GDF’s tremendous efforts over the past 30 years to adopt western defense reforms, to improve NATO interoperability and build capabilities to defend Georgia’s territorial integrity.

The United States is proud to call the GDF our brothers and sisters in arms and we reflect on the sacrifices of the 32 Georgians killed and 293 wounded during international missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. We look forward to many more years of future security cooperation”, - reads the statement of the Embassy.
