23-year-old Turpal Borchashvili, who was killed in Syria, was from the village of Dzibakhevi. According to the locals, the young man went to work in Turkey 6 months ago. When he arrived in Syria is not known.

The residents of Pankisi learned about the death of Borchashvili late last night . The fact has been confirmed by the district administration and rural territorial authority.

Borchashvili is the 14th Georgian citizen, who fought in the name of the so-called "Islamic State" and died in the fighting in Syria.
