Speaking in the language of an ultimatum is categorically unacceptable - Irakli Garibashvili

Speaking in the language of an ultimatum is categorically unacceptable. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, while commenting protests around Namakhvani HPP.

“We offered a suitable dialogue format to the protesters. There were numerous attempts on our part. I involved my personal representative, governors and ministries. Besides, we invited the EU Special Representative, who will once again examine in detail all the nuances and details of this project, the effects of environmental impact.

I instructed the Ministry of Justice to re-examine the compliance of this project by independent law firms with international practice. Therefore, there should be no questions asked.

At the end of the month, I meet the founder and owner of the company, an investor, who will visit Tbilisi.

As for speaking in the language of an ultimatum, this is categorically unacceptable. It’s reminiscent of the dark 90s”, - said Irakli Garbashvili.
