Ukraine and Georgia are strategic partners, these are not just words, this is confirmed by concrete deeds, facts and, of course, our partnership. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Ukraine after meeting with his Georgian colleague.
“We see that the relationship between our peoples is gaining momentum, it is a very important signal for the business sector of the countries and for our citizens. Ukraine-Georgia are strategic partners, these are not just words, this is confirmed by concrete deeds, facts and, of course, our partnership.
The current relations between our countries are based, first of all, on the joint goals of the governments of Ukraine and Georgia in terms of membership in the European Union and NATO. I am sure that our countries’ accession to the EU and NATO is only a matter of time, for our part, the governments of Georgia and Ukraine are doing everything possible to achieve the necessary criteria.
A few weeks ago, Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova formed the “Associated Trio”, which, on the one hand, underscores the European aspirations of our countries and their ambitions to become members of the EU. On the other hand, it allows them to prepare more effectively for the Eastern Partnership Summit, in particular to pay more attention to regional security issues.
Ongoing destabilization actions by the Russia in the Black Sea region are pushing Ukraine and Georgia to work more closely in the field of security, including with the involvement of NATO countries”, - said Denys Shmyhal.
